Micro-Cem™ Polymer is used as the primer for the Micro-Cem™ system. With Micro-Cem™ Ultra-Thin Overlay a double application of Micro-Cem™ polymer as a primer is required. To begin, apply an even coat of Micro-Cem™ Polymer to a clean and prepared sound substrate using a paint roller or bristle brush. Coverage is approximately 200 square feet per gallon (4.9 m²/L). Take care to protect adjacent surfaces from overlap or splash. When applying the Micro-Cem™ Polymer the initial coloring is white. After a few minutes the material will begin to soak into the surface and start to have a clear appearance. Once this process begins you must apply the second coat of polymer immediately. Do not allow the polymer to dry out completely. After the second coat of Micro-Cem™ Polymer is applied it must be coated with Micro-Cem™ Ultra-Thin Overlay before the polymer dries. If the Polymer primer coat has dried before the Micro-Cem™ application, the Micro-Cem™ may not adhere to the substrate. If the primer dries prior to application the surface must be sanded and then the primer can be re-applied followed by the application of Micro-Cem™.
